I'm going to Morocco on Monday for a week and a half, followed by around 4 days in Grasse. (Hooray!) If I don't get around to posting anything on the weekend, see you in 2 weeks!!
Some oddities at Borough Market. The smelliest cheese (I could smell it miles before I found it): they put the whole cheese under a grill, then scrape the melted cheese onto a mix of mashed potato and pickles. Looks amazing, but a little too strong for me! And in the bottom picture, pigs' heads. Yeah... Not so enticing!!
The Cathedral is Anglican, and there has been a church on the site since 606AD, perhaps earlier. It is the oldest cathedral building in London, and stands at the oldest crossing point of the tidal Thames at what was the only entrance to the City of London across the river for many centuries.
I went to Borough Market on Saturday. It was fabulous, as always, even though it rained. I usually go for the ridiculously delicious felafel wrap, but decided to try something different instead: a lamb and haloumi burger. Yummy, but not as good as the felafel. So many amazing things on offer. I bought some giant, fluffy English muffins, and the best nougat I think I've ever tasted (with thin layers of caramel running through it). My friend bought some luxurious-looking smoky bacon, and a couple of smelly cheeses.
